Unity Girls High School is an independent Islamic day school for girls. Our objective is to have the highest standards both morally and academically and to provide a sound Islamic environment for our students.
Unity Girls High School is dependent upon funds that are derived mainly from fees generated from students. Without the fees we will not be able to maintain and sustain the school in a manner that is acceptable for our children. It is important that parents/guardians understand and undertake their responsibility in complying with the fees agreement form.
The payment of fees is the liability of the parent/guardian undertaking the responsibility of sending a student to the school.
Parents must consider their own personal situation before registration. It is the duty of the parent/guardian to ensure that they have the means and ability to pay for that academic year before signing the contract.
Entrance test and Application fees
All students who wish to attend Unity Girls High School must first sit an entrance test.
The test will consist of a written test followed by an interview. Details about admission may be obtained from our Admission policy.
There is a fee of £50 for the entry exam and fee of registration fee £100. This fee is to cover the admin for the application process and is non-refundable whether the child is accepted or not.
The result of the tests, interview and availability of places will determine the candidate’s offer of a place.
Deposit
On successfully passing the entrance test and accepting the offer of a place at the school, the parent/guardian is required to pay a refundable deposit of a terms fees.
For all existing students who have not previously been required to pay a refundable deposit they will be required to pay upon confirming their place for the following year. This is necessary in order to either complete the registration process or secure a place at the school (in respect of new students) or to progress to the next year in respect of current students. The refundable deposit will be paid back when the child leaves the school. We require a terms fees in advance.
Book Fees
At registration parents of students going into Year 7 and 8 only, are required to make a one off payment of £100 to cover the cost of text books and exercise books their child will use while at the school. This fee excludes GCSE text books, which are bought by students as ‘Extras’ at the time they begin the syllabus (a list will be provided by the school). Any texts books that are lost or damaged must be replaced by the student. Completed exercise books are replaced at no cost, as required. If any text books are lost or damaged, a sum of £25.00 will be charged to the student as ‘Extras’.

- METHODS OF PAYMENT
Payment can be made either by Bank Transfer, Standing Order or Cheque. In some cases Cash can be accepted.
Cheque: If you choose to pay by cheque, your payment must be cleared by the due date. This means that any cheques must be handed in at least 4 working days before the deadline date, in order for the cheques to be cleared by the bank. Please note that if you send a cheque and it bounces, you will be liable for the bank admin charge of £35.00.
Standing Order: This is the preferred method of payment. This will reduce paperwork and the need for you to come to our offices to make payments. Please fill out our Standing Order Mandate and provide a copy of the Mandate to our admin office (the original must be given to your bank). This process should be completed at the time of registration so banking procedures are in place before the commencement of school.
Bank Transfer: This payment method is applicable for all of Option 1 or Option 2, or for the 1st instalment of Option 3.
Cash: This payment option is available to those who do not have a UK bank account. Please discuss with finance department.
- HOW TO SECURE A PLACE FOR YOUR CHILD AT THE SCHOOL
To secure a place for your child for the next academic year, you must either pay the full fee in advance or as a minimum pay one term’s fee in advance according to the scheduled dates.
- IF UNABLE TO PAY THE FEES
We expect everyone to meet their obligations in full without exception. Parents may if they so wish apply for financial support to outside aid agencies, however, the decision of such agencies in providing assistance is not the responsibility of the school and will not be accepted as a reason for any delay in making fee payments on time.
- MISSED PAYMENTS & ADMIN CHARGES
Fees are due on the agreed schedule. If we do not receive the fees in cleared funds by these dates, we will send you a reminder letter, requesting that payment is made within the following 48 days. There will be an admin charge of £12 for this reminder.
If fees are still not forthcoming, we will send a second reminder letter, requesting payment before your child is allowed to return to classes which will incur an additional £12 admin charge. Please note the admin charges cannot be removed once applied.
EXCLUSION:
We will exclude a child from school, even at exam time, if all overdue sums due are not cleared before the following dates:
- 1st September ( for first term fees due from 24/08/2021)
- 1st December (for second term fees due from 10th Nov 2021)
- 1st March (for third term fees due from (10th Feb 2022)
This exclusion will apply even if you have paid the fees, but have neglected to pay the admin charge.
Parents of pupils in Year 11 (the final year) must ensure that the all fees are settled before the end of March of that year to enable the child to sit GCSE examinations. The School may withhold any information and property whenever fees are overdue. The School may disclose the fact and amount of any unpaid fees to another school which the pupil attends or proposes to attend.
A pupil will be deemed to have been withdrawn without notice if any fees remain unpaid one calendar month after exclusion for non-payment of fees. Accordingly, a term’s fee will be payable forthwith.
- MORE THAN ONE CHILD AT THE SCHOOL
Please see the table below for the discounted rates that will apply to all children at Unity Girls High School.
Discount for Siblings
Full fees payable for first child – plus 5% discount if paid in full by 24/08/2021
5% discount for second child
- 8. REFUND OF FEES
If a parent has paid in advance he/she may be entitled to a refund. This however is conditional on there being no financial loss to the school and provided the child’s place is filled by another on the Waiting List. The deposit will be held on account for such cases.
Fees will not be refunded or waived for absence through sickness or if a term is shortened or a vacation extended or if a pupil is sent home before the normal end of term or for any other cause.
- 9. UNAUTHORISED ABSENCES
Any child who is, without prior written permission from the Head teacher, absent from class for 2 weeks or portions thereof will receive a letter requesting an explanation. If the child remains absent for a 3rd week or portions thereof without adequate explanation, the child’s place may be offered to others on the Waiting List without further warning. Any fees paid will not be refunded under such circumstances.
- 10. WRITTEN NOTICE OF WITHDRAWAL
Parents must give a term’s advance written notice before withdrawing a child from the school or a term’s fee will be payable in lieu. Notice given by parents only operates when submitted in writing to the school secretary and received by the school. Notice given orally or to any other person will not be considered valid. Written notice received before the first day of term, expires at the end of the term. Written notice received on or after the first day of term, expires at the end of the following term.
- 11. FEE PAYMENT AGREEMENT FORM
All parents are required to complete and sign a Fee Payment Agreement Form which constitutes a legally binding agreement.
If there are any queries, they can be addressed in writing to our fee’s collection officer.
